Mineralized Roofing Felt
A garden building roofing felt in its commonest form. Coated externally with small stone flakes or grit to deter the effects of weathering.
Horticultural Glass
A single sheet of non-toughened standard glass, most often used in garden buildings like summerhouses and sheds.
Padbolt
A sliding metal catch used to secure doors or gates, usually with a holed provision for a padlock (not supplied). Style will vary by product.
Description
The modular nature of the Shire Guernsey shed allows each individual piece to be taken through a standard pedestrian door (78 inches or 1.9m tall), making the shed ideal for mid-terrace houses with a need for lots of garden storage.
Modular buildings also allow the windowed side panel to be placed in a number of different positions and on either side of the shed to take advantage of the available light in your garden.
The wall panels are constructed of tongue and groove cladding and supplied in modular sections. The main advantage of a modular design is that each individual panel will be small enough (in one or both dimensions) to be carried by one person and will fit through a standard pedestrian door. As a consequence the individual boards may not line up perfectly with those on adjacent panels, due to the variances in the natural timber cladding.
The walls and floor are made from tongue and groove and the roof panels will be a solid sheet OSB. Mineralized roofing felt is supplied as standard, along with instructions and all the fixtures and fittings required to install the shed.

Poor quality. Come broken down is small panels for cheap transportation. This results in a weak building that takes a long time to assemble. The timber is if poor quality so soft u can dig your finger nails into it. The paneling in full of holes and knots. The poorest quality timber possible worse than match sticks. The fixings provided are poor and inadequate. I have to buy additional c16 timber to strengthen. The project cost increased significantly. I wish I had spent a couple of hundred pounds more and got something decent. You get what you pay for. On a positive note the end result is a decent looking spacious shed. But had to put in a lot more time and money that anticipated. Time will tell how long it will stand for but I suspect I will be replacing parts within five years.

Product OK, good delivery. But several design faults that should be addressed and would have altered my choice if they were known to me prior to purchase. 1. The floor could be a little thicker, 2 The front doors are prevented opening fully as they hit the canopy. I was hoping the doors perhaps were narrower and open fully and not protrude beyond the edges, 3 With guttering fitted it prevents the windows opening. 4 had to fix blocks behind the doors fastening clasps to take the long coach securing bolts { not supplied}. (ONE GARDEN COMMENT: Thank you for your feedback, which we respectfully reject as "design faults". The points raised refer to upgrades/changes that would essentially alter the product's specification and cost significantly, rendering it unattractive within the range hierarchy. By point; (1) Floor, 12mm T&G is industry standard-grade specification, (2) Double door offers maximum width v height access usability, without increasing overall building height; ability to 'fold back' isn't available on most double door wooden apex sheds today, (3) Guttering, there is no upgrade option hence no design need to increase product height or window configuration, albeit if a 'plain' side was formed you could still bespoke fit, (4) "Blocks", personal choice only. In conclusion, our website, by image or specification does allow a consumer to be learn such 'upgrades' as 1-3 are not standard features. For any personal essence of purchase, such could naturally of been clarified prior to purchase.)

Shed is reasonable quality but comes in many parts this can prove to be quite fiddly and time consuming especially when doing the roof section. We would normally supply and fit sheds which come in 1 floor section 4 sides and 2 parts to the roof not the multiple pieces like this shed. That said if time is not an issue this shed is reasonably priced and a good looking shed once complete. (ONE GARDEN COMMENT: Thank you for the feedback. The advantage of this modular shed is that it is supplied by design in smaller sections for two primary reasons; (1) to allow the window panels to be placed in any of multiple locations by the customer on installation to suit their preference, (2) the smaller section can pass through a pedestrian door, especially useful on a terraced property; where 'full' sections often will not. That being said, the majority of our wooden shed range in general remain typically 'full' sectioned, if required.)

I was surprised with the number of parts there were to assemble compared with other sheds. One of the roof frames that needed building had a large knot where it required attaching to the frame, which meant replacing. The roof felt is cheap and tore very easily. I expect I will be replacing this very soon!! Once up the shed is sturdy and looks good, so would have been a better score if felt was better quality and no issue with knot in wood. Double check the screws as we had a whole pack missing and had to purchase separately. (ONE GARDEN COMMENT: Thank you for the valued feedback. The Guernsey does have many parts (panels) by design, its modular format being easier for the consumer to handle and so small enough to pass through a doorway; ideal for a terraced access. Knots are a natural feature of Pine, our apologies though one existed at a fixing point. In the event of any missing parts, screws in this instance (sorry), it's always helpful to report these immediately so that replacements can be dispatched at no expense.)

Put shed together again and found one of the windows didn't fit the aperture and the doors were slightly too big. I purchased this shed after wanting a good quality shed which looked good upon finish. It took two days to get the main part of the shed erected because the pre-made parts were made off centre. The panels didn't join up properly and neither did the roof joists. After a lot of messing about with it, we managed to sort the issues. Now the shed is finished, it does look good with plenty of space inside. (ONE GARDEN COMMENT: The jig-made panels of this modular product cannot be practically produced 'off centre', being formed within a fixed, squared template. An out-of-level existing base would twist the structure and cause misalignment of both panels and joists as mentioned, thus a firm and level fully-supporting base is essential for a sound installation.)

A nice shed for the price. Some of the wall panels were a little off square (or the t&g not square on the frames) so some of the lines are a bit wonky. Only noticed once the shed was put together though! Would recommend trying the panels in different combinations before screwing together, to find the best fit. Also make sure the eaves are vertical when screwed to the end walls otherwise it'll throw the roof off square. Would have preferred if the roof trusses were ready assembled too, as the tiniest mistake here results in a sagging roof.

Disappointed with the floor section connection blocks. Makes for a v weak floor. Not enough truss blocks (A0042) but too many door blocks! Looks good when assembled; shame about the floor. (ONE GARDEN COMMENT: With the additional modular framing this model has over a standard floor, the floor should be suitably stable when fully supported by a full and level base. We are sorry that you were disappointed though and will relay your valued feedback to Shire.)
