The timber used for this product was obtained from a managed resource, where responsible forest management and re-planting are employed.
Pressure Treatment
Wood is placed into an airtight tank, by vacuum the air is replaced with preservative. This superior process extends lifespan allowing in-ground use.
Square Edge
A simple cladding method where square-cut boarding is secured in a solid butted or open slatted format to a parallel arrangement.
Half Lap
Strong timber construction method featuring interlocking butt joints. Typically interlocking at the corners for max. strength against warping.
Styrene
Styrene, Polycarbonate and Acrylic are all terms for tough, single sheet plastic glazing. Styrene will not shatter like glass, so it is ideal for playhouses.
Description
The Zest Sleeper Cold Frame is made from thick, pressure treated interlocking wooden boards with a pair of tough plastic windows that make up the lid. Excellent for helping to cultivate small plants or seedlings.

What a great product is the garden sleeper cold frame so simple to construct as most operations have been catered for easy building. The packaging was superb and easy to handle by the delivery guys and customer even though it was quite heavy to manouvre but you need a decent amount of space to do it. All in all a wonderful product for doing the job it is intended fior.

An excellent purchase. The ordering procedure was speedy and efficient and the cold frame was simple to construct and very strong and robust. Note the need to make the screwholes yourself. I used a drill and small drill bit. It may not be obvious but there is a clear protective film on one side of the plexiglass windows. Here, it was topside on one window and underneath on the other. Overall, I reckon that it would be hard to beat the quality of this cold frame and the service from One Garden.

I really recommend this cold frame as it is solidly made and therefore not liable to blow about in the wind and, once actually put together, it is a good size unlike many other products. However, it is not that easy to put together - you will probably need two people if you, like me, are older! I found that drilling the holes necessary to stabilize the sides was made more difficult by the fact that I kept on coming up against manufactured metal parts. It is nevertheless well worth persisting!

Excellent product and easy to assemble. I have sat it on part of my raised beds with some soil removed to give great depth and a mini-greenhouse style. Only change I have made is to add a slotted flat metal stay to hang from the middle of each opening window to connect to a brass eyelet on the outside of the frame. This gives a rigid and adjustable window opener.

We read some decent reviews before we bought and were not disappointed. it arrived flat packed but it was clear the wood was of good quality and the build instructions were clear. Although it came with fixings, the holes were not pre drilled but I didn't find this a problem and put it together in about 45 minutes. I have given it 5 stars based on build quality and value for money. I could have deducted a star for no pre drilled holes, but as this didn't cause me any problem, I have given this full marks. Makes a good solid cold frame and definitely worth considering.
