A tongue & groove boarding offering a smooth planed finish. Each upper face is shaped with a shallow curve to offer a shiplap, overlapping appearance.
OSB (Oriented Strand Board)
Oriented Strand Board also known as OSB. Layers of wood flakes set within a glue-like resin, compressed into a solid sheet. Common in sheds.
Mineralized Roofing Felt
A garden building roofing felt in its commonest form. Coated externally with small stone flakes or grit to deter the effects of weathering.
Styrene
Styrene, Polycarbonate and Acrylic are all terms for tough, single sheet plastic glazing. Styrene will not shatter like glass, so it is ideal for playhouses.
Roller Catch
A simple, push-to-close door retaining catch. Often used on wooden playhouses as a non-locking safety feature. Style and design may vary by product.
Description
The Shire Pixie Playhouse is renown for its popular appeal and remains central within the Shire playhouses range.
With its style of a woodland cabin, the Pixie could come straight out of a fairy tale story. This wooden playhouse comes with large windows along the front wall and door.
The glazing provided is made from a safety styrene, a tough plastic that does not shatter like glass when broken. The door opens out onto a small veranda.
Mineralized felt is provided to cover the roof, full instructions will be supplied upon delivery along with all the fixtures and fittings needed to install the playhouse.

The shire playhouse is of very poor quality for the amount paid. The playhouse required tremendous amounts of sanding and filling before it was built. The delivery driver also snapped one panel during delivery. Customer service is very poor. We were reassured that we would receive our window boxes on a next day service. We chased this up 3 times and received them somewhat 3 weeks later. I would not recommend Shire to others based on customer service and quality of the product.

Unfortunately, we waited in for 12 hours for delivery and when I rang to find out where it was I was told it should be with me any time, 8 hours later it arrived!!! It took 3 of us 5 hours to put together, the roof pins are not long enough to hold the felt down but we bought some longer ones and that was fine. Very sturdy and well made. We were also unfortunate that 3 of our window pains had cracks in them too!

Unfortunately we are somewhat disappointed with the product and the delivery service. The first delivery contained 2 damaged parts - which wasn't really surprising as it was delivered in no protective packaging at all and the wood isn't as study as we had hoped. One Garden however were very apologetic and very quickly sent out replacement parts. One of these was also damaged and once again One Garden were quick to apologize and sent out a further replacement part. Thankfully this was OK and we could finally get on with building it. The roof felt also had a rip in it but thankfully there was excess material so it hasn't affected the final product. Now it is finally assembled our little girls loves it. The service we have had from One Garden has been very good and the customer service staff we dealt with were very helpful but you perhaps need to review your modes of delivery so as to hopefully avoid multiple re-delvieries for damaged parts and subsequent customer frustration. We are also a little disappointed in the quality of the wood of the playhouse considering the cost. (ONE GARDEN COMMENT: Thank you for your feedback, thankfully the damage you report is rare as this manufacturer use their own fleet to deliver with care from their factory to your door. Being timber, transit shift/stress may have caused result, but we will duly report your comments to Shire).

Lovely designed playhouse. Have painted it pink, purple and cream and it looks gorgeous. Not too difficult to put together. Took a couple of days for 2 of us as we took our time erecting it. Was a bit disappointed with the finish of the wood as it was quite rough. Would have paid a bit extra for One Garden / Shire to plain it smoother in their factory so it was smooth to the touch as it is a playhouse for children. Great delivery and very efficient and helpful delivery person. Great service from One Garden/Shire for our beautiful Shire Pixie Playhouse. Would recommend. THANK YOU.
