A tongue & groove boarding offering a smooth planed finish. Each upper face is shaped with a shallow curve to offer a shiplap, overlapping appearance.
OSB (Oriented Strand Board)
Oriented Strand Board also known as OSB. Layers of wood flakes set within a glue-like resin, compressed into a solid sheet. Common in sheds.
Mineralized Roofing Felt
A garden building roofing felt in its commonest form. Coated externally with small stone flakes or grit to deter the effects of weathering.
Styrene
Styrene, Polycarbonate and Acrylic are all terms for tough, single sheet plastic glazing. Styrene will not shatter like glass, so it is ideal for playhouses.
Roller Catch
A simple, push-to-close door retaining catch. Often used on wooden playhouses as a non-locking safety feature. Style and design may vary by product.
Description
The Shire Loft Playhouse is a large playhouse with asymmetric roof, allowing for an internal raised platform on one side of the building. The mezzanine platform is accessible via a ladder at the far end and has a safety railing to prevent accidents.
The Loft Playhouse is made from smooth finished tongue and groove to the walls and floor, with a solid sheet OSB roof. Safety hinges are provided to prevent little fingers from becoming trapped.
The glazing provided is made from a safety styrene, a tough plastic that does not shatter like glass when broken. Two window boxes are supplied as standard (the primary image shows 4 but has been painted and embellished for photography purposes) Mineralized felt is provided to cover the roof.
Full instructions will be supplied upon delivery, along with all the fixtures and fittings needed to install this wooden playhouse.

It's a great playhouse, but some warnings about putting it up. Firstly, the design is slightly different to that advertised here. The roof is now built with shiplap timber and the entire structure comes in six large panels that you screw together. The largest of these panels are the front and back walls - they are both 225cm x 240cm, so check that you have sufficient clearance to get them into your garden. The playhouse is easy enough for two careful people to put together but the structure does need a little shoring up - I added some cross bracing with 34mm timber on the side panels to eliminate any "wobble". A couple of extra beams across the roof have also helped. The quality of the boards was largely OK, though some minor repairs using filler and nails were needed before painting. I would recommend Googling "Assembly of FP Loft 2015" to find and download the current instructions - these will give you some insight into what you're letting yourself in for. Overall, I'm pleased with the result, though may not have purchased if I knew that I'd need a side return to get it into the garden...

2 stars only because now it's in place the kids love it. One panel damaged. Another sent, took another week to arrive. Replacement also damaged. Would take another week for another replacement. Husband then spent our own money and time building a panel himself so the house was in place for birthdays. (ONE GARDEN COMMENT: Please accept our sincere apologies for any accidental panel transit damage. We are now in contact with both you and the manufacturer to investigate, as we were unaware of the full history due to your direct dealings with the manufacturer. We are though pleased that your children are now enjoying their playhouse.)

A mixed review, delivery was not complete and driver just shrugged when I informed him of this, but customer services was efficient and the missing parts were sent promptly. Unfortunately there were still bits missing, plastic for diamond in door and one of the walls had the top protective layer of wood missing, even though the playhouse is lovely and was quite straight froward to construct. Good value for money and my little one is pleased.

Very pleased with the playhouse, excellent value for money. The delivery was spot on and the driver was very courtious, great chap put everything neat and tidy. I would recommend this product to friends if they thinking of getting a playhouse for there children or in our case granddaughter.
